Community groups and growers @ ORFC

Community groups, farmers and growers – join our free event during ORFC to get more good produce to community food projects

3rd January 2024, 1.30 to 3.45pm, Friends Meeting House, Oxford

This event will connect farmers and growers with community projects to discuss how to get more local food (and surplus) to community groups, and identify what is most needed. With examples from around the UK, including Tamar Grow Local.

We’ll be looking at questions such as:

What do food projects actually want? What models exist to pay for this food? What produce is hard to access locally for some cultural / ethnic groups and can this be grown? What are the surplus supply arrangements and what good food is currently not getting distributed effectively? Who in the area can supply / wants better food – and can you work together?

We would particularly like to welcome Oxfordshire groups.

Please join this event if you are:

  • A community group involved in providing food
  • A grower or supplier interested in:
    • better provision of community nutrition
    • food poverty

Drinks and snacks will be provided. You do not need an ORFC ticket to attend this session.
